Land off North Street, Scalby
On behalf of our Client, Hallam Land, we write to inform you of their intention to submit an Outline Planning Application to North Yorkshire Council (NYC) for up to 100 residential dwellings on land off North Street, Scalby (the Application).
The Application site is in agricultural use and is located to the west of Scalby. A site Location Plan is provided overleaf.
Proposals are currently being drawn up and will be available to view and discuss at a forthcoming public consultation event. We would welcome your thoughts on what is important to the local community and how this scheme can contribute.
It is anticipated that the proposal could provide:-
- A boost to housing supply and enhanced choice of market and affordable housing in the local area, delivering up to 100 residential dwellings, including 30% affordable homes, in a varied housing mix to meet local housing need (including a range between 2 – 5 bed properties).
- Main point of vehicular access from North Street, Scalby.
- A network of cycle and pedestrian routes to provide connections across the site and to the surrounding area.
- Areas of Public Open Space.
- Potential to provide additional parking provision for Scalby Sports Club.
- Sustainable Drainage systems.
- Additional landscaping within the Application site will provide biodiversity, improve visual amenity and offer natural screening where appropriate.
Hallam Land are committed to ongoing engagement with Newby and Scalby Town Council and local residents. A community consultation event will be held ahead of the Application submission. The details are as follows:
Wednesday 22nd October, 16:00 - 19:00
St Laurence’s Church Rooms
Church Hill,
Scalby,
YO13 0SA
Opportunity will be provided on the day to speak with the development team and representatives of Hallam Land. Details of the Illustrative Masterplan will be available at the exhibition event and uploaded afterwards for comment.
